Position Overview
An Air Ticketing Executive is responsible for managing flight reservations, issuing tickets, handling cancellations and rebookings, and providing high-quality customer service to ensure smooth travel experiences. The role requires expertise in airline reservation systems, knowledge of aviation regulations, and strong customer relationship skills.
Key Responsibilities
Ticketing & Reservations
Make flight bookings, rebookings, cancellations, and modifications using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
Issue, revalidate, and reissue tickets in compliance with airline and IATA guidelines.
Calculate fares and handle refunds, exchanges, and travel vouchers.
Manage group bookings, special requests, and corporate client itineraries.
Customer Service
Provide passengers with accurate information regarding flights, fares, schedules, visas, and travel requirements.
Assist customers with special needs (unaccompanied minors, medical assistance, baggage handling).
Handle complaints, disruptions, or schedule changes with professionalism and empathy.
Build and maintain long-term client relationships by delivering excellent service.
Sales & Revenue
Promote and sell additional services such as upgrades, baggage, insurance, hotels, and tour packages.
Work towards achieving monthly and quarterly ticketing and sales targets.
Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling to maximize revenue.
Operations & Administration
Maintain accurate booking and transaction records.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales and reconciliation reports.
Coordinate with airlines, consolidators, and tour operators for seat confirmations and special deals.
Verify passenger documents (passport, visa, health certificates) to ensure compliance with international travel requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in GDS systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo, etc.)
Strong knowledge of IATA fare rules, ticketing processes, and airline regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Customer service orientation with problem-solving ability
Attention to detail and accuracy in bookings and documentation
Ability to work under pressure with changing schedules
Basic financial/accounting knowledge for invoicing and payments
Qualifications
Minimum of a diploma/degree in Travel, Tourism, or related field
Prior experience in ticketing/reservations (1–3 years preferred)
Certification in GDS systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo) highly desirable
Fluency in English (additional languages a plus)
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
